With over 20 years professional performance experience, Steven has played or recorded with artists such as Dave Weckl, Sojourn, Clark Terry, Gary Foster, Claire Fisher, Kirk Whalum, The Impressions, and many others. As a front man for Sojourn, he opened shows for Rick Braun, Marilyn Scott, Norman Brown, Alex Bugnon, Chris Botti, Paul Taylor and Phil Perry. Currently a freelance saxophonist in the KC area, Steve typically performs with his contemporary jazz group or at private functions.

Introducing The Steve Phillips Group!
Steve Phillips is an energetic yet smooth saxophonist in any style. For more than 20 years, Steven has played as a sideman or frontman for various musical groups. Now, a new performing group has been assembled and is now booking for gigs!
The Steve Phillips Group is comprised of friends who lead Sunday morning worship music weekly in one of the area's larger churches. They realized their common desire to create a musical group that would be new and fresh, building on the experiences of the past, but with a flair of modern fusion and funk. Sometimes leaning towards modal swing and other times towards edgier jazz-rock, it is always fun.
The Steven L. Phillips Group is Steven on saxophones and flute, Arturo LaCruz on keyboards and guitar, Nic Neufeld on bass and David Hoffman on drums.
